Following the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP), customers that are enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan (MA) that would like to switch to Original Medicare  have the opportunity to do so during the Medicare Advantage Disenrollment Period (MADP) from January 1st to February 14th. Any changes made during the Disenrollment Period will be effective the first day of the month following the Medicare Advantage Plan's receipt of the disenrollment request. In addition, they will have until February 14th to join a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan (PDP).  It is imperative that your customer's understand the importance of adding a Prescription Drug Plan (PDP) or having another form of creditable drug coverage to avoid paying a late enrollment penalty fee along with their premium if they purchase prescription drug coverage in the future.
