Detecting glaucoma early and seeking proper treatment can reduce vision loss. Medicare covers one glaucoma screening every twelve months for those who are considered high risk. If you answer “yes” to any of the following questions, you are considered high risk and qualify for an annual glaucoma screening.
- Do you have diabetes or a family history of glaucoma?
- Are you African American and 50 or older?
- Are you Hispanic American and 65 or older?
