Just before midnight last night Monday, October 26th, Congress released a "discussion draft" that would amend the budget until September of 2017. The draft includes a section addressing the 52% increase to Medicare Part B premiums and deductibles that were expected to take place in 2016. If this plan is signed into law, it will give lawmakers two more years to try to come up with a more permanent solution to out-of-pocket Medicare costs while saving millions of seniors money in the meantime. Congress is expected to spend the duration of the week addressing the tentative agreement.
