According to the Kaiser Health Tracking Poll released last month, the federal requirement to be covered by insurance is boosting the demand- and the growth- for independent agents and producers in the major medical market.  The amount of people purchasing  insurance through independent agents and brokers has increased over 21% from February 2014 figures.

People purchasing their insurance directly from carriers has increased 3% from last year to 25%; however, it is still a sharp drop from 2014 figures reflecting 67%.  Those buying their own insurance  only accounted for 8%.
