THIS JUST IN!!!
FYI: We’re moving to just-in-time appointment in select states. Starting July 14, we’re moving to just-in-time appointment for MA/MAPD and PDP producers in 35 states: AK, AR, CA, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, HI, IA, ID, KS, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OK, SC, SD, TN, TX, VA, WV and WY.
Through the just-in-time appointment process, we’ll wait to request appointment for agents until they submit their first enrollment application to us (i.e., “just in time”). The change will be invisible for agents and will not affect their contracting or certification experience.
In the remaining 15 states, the appointment process is not changing. We will continue requesting appointment during the contracting process.
What you need to know:
- Agents must still use the Contract Information Sheet in nomoreforms to request appointment, the same way they do now. This process is not changing.
- Agents must still ensure their state licenses are in good order so that Aetna can appoint them at the appropriate time. If agents have an incorrect line of authority for a certain state, this will prevent appointment.
- For help verifying that agent licenses have the correct line of authority for appointment, please review our state lines of authority grid on Producer World.
Questions?
If you have any questions, please contact your local Aetna Medicare Broker Manager. Or contact the Aetna Medicare Broker Services Department at 1-866-714-9301, 8 am to 8 pm ET.
Prior to engaging in the sale of Aetna or Coventry Medicare products, producers must be ready to sell, which means certified, contracted, licensed in the applicable states, and appointed by Aetna in accordance with state law. As permitted in certain states, Aetna will order appointments after the first sale.
